Who may use The Follicare® System?
The Follicare® System for Men may be used by males 18 and older. Women can use Follicare®, but it is not recommended women use the 5% Minoxidil.
Will The Follicare® System work for me?
In an independent pilot clinical trial, 100% of subjects using The Follicare® System noted a slowing of hair loss and new hair growth within the first or second month of treatment. 50% of the participants noted new frontal hair growth at the end of the six month trial. The amount of hair regrowth is different for each person. Men who have not had success with other hair regrowth programs, have reported marked results using the Follicare® System.
How soon can I expect results from using The Follicare® System?
After a few weeks you will notice less hair loss. Some hair loss is normal (even those with the healthiest head of hair lose around 100 hairs a day), but you should start to notice less hair in the shower drain or on your comb or brush. Your existing hair should also start to appear thicker and healthier. Sometime in the second month you should start to notice new hair growth (some will notice it sooner). Please remember that hair only grows a ½ inch to 1 inch a month in most of us. Be patient, by the end of the second or third month you should start to notice a difference in your photographs (and others will notice for you!)!
If The Follicare® System is working, what will the new hair look like?
At first, hair growth may be soft, downy, lighter color hair. After further use, the new hair should be the same color and thickness as the other hairs on your scalp.
How long do I need to use the Follicare® System?
You will start to see results after just 8 weeks of using the product. New hair growth will be fine at that time. You will also notice at this time that you are not losing nearly as much hair as you had been prior to using Follicare®. After six to twelve months of continued use as directed, you will be able to see your best results. As with any product that is correcting an unwanted condition, continued use will be needed to maintain the results you desire and continue the hair growth process. However, once you achieve your desired results, you can cut back your use of the system to 3 or 4 days per week instead of every day.
How long will a bottle of Follicare® All Natural Topical Spray last?
Each bottle of Follicare® All Natural Topical Spray contains 4 ounces, and should last 50 - 60 days when used as directed.
Can I use The Follicare® System more than twice a day? Will it work faster or better?
No. Follicare® will not work faster or better if used more than directed. Healthy hair takes time to grow.
What will I experience when using The Follicare® System All Natural Topical Spray?
The Follicare® All Natural Topical Spray contains peppermint oil, which can cause a mild tingling sensation. Users have reported this effect to decrease after one or two weeks of continuous use. In addition, when you first start using Follicare®, you may see some reddening of the scalp and feel a slight heat sensation. This will dissipate after approximately 30 minutes. This minor discomfort is for a good reason! It is the result of increased blood flow in the area that is bringing necessary nutrients to the hair follicle to help you grow new hair. After a few days of use, these slight symptoms will become much less noticeable.
What happens if I choose not to use the Extra Strength 5% Minoxidil?
For optimal results, we encourage you to use all components although many men have experienced great results without it.
Can I use hair sprays, mousse, or conditioner along with The Follicare® System?
There is no need to change your usual hair care routine when using The Follicare® System, however, you should apply Follicare® before applying styling aids. It is recommended that you let your hair air dry for 5 - 10 minutes before blow drying. Follicare can be adapted into your hair styling regime. You need to find the one that works best for you.
Can I have my hair colored or permed or use hair relaxers while using Follicare®?
We have no information that these treatments change the effect of Follicare®. To avoid possible scalp irritation, you should make sure all of the Follicare® solution has been washed off the hair and scalp before using these chemicals.
What if I miss an application, or forget to use The Follicare® System?
If you miss one or two daily doses of The Follicare® System, just continue with your next dose. You should not make up for missed applications.
Can I apply the Follicare® All Natural Topical Spray and wash my hair an hour later?
Yes, but for The Follicare® All Natural Topical Spray to work best, you should allow it to remain on the scalp for about 4 hours before washing.
Can I work out, go swimming, or go out in the rain?
If possible, apply Follicare® All Natural Topical Spray to a dry scalp after swimming, or wait about 4 hours after application before going swimming. If you are going to work out and sweat, wear a headband to prevent sweat from running into your eyes. Use proper precautions.
Are there any special warnings about the use of the Follicare® All Natural Topical Spray?
No. The Follicare® All Natural Topical Spray does not contain Minoxidil. Some individuals are concerned about the potential side effects of Minoxidil and choose not to use the topical Minoxidil (packaged separately). If you do use the Extra Strength 5% Minoxidil, read the directions carefully before use.
As a general rule, you should consult with your physician if you:
- Have no family history of hair loss
- Have sudden hair loss
- Have patchy hair loss
- Do not know the reason for your hair loss
